consonance

1. agreement, correspondence, or harmony. There is little consonance among the ideas presented in your paper; in fact, you seem to contradict yourself repeatedly.
2. in music, a combination of tones considered to be harmonious and restful. (Cf. dissonance.)
The mellow consonance of this passage contrasts with the harsh harmonies of the rest of the piece.
3. in prosody, the repetition of the same consonant sound, esp. at the ends of words, as in “print” and “bat”.
The poet uses both consonance and alliteration, especially ‘b’ and ‘k’ sounds, to heighten the sense of violence in the combat scene.
