definition:
When something is diverse, it is made up of different types of things. When a group of people is diverse, the people are not all the same. For example, they may come from different places or speak different languages. They may look different from each other or believe in different things.

example:
Isabel has a diverse group of friends. She says it’s fun to have dinner at their houses because the food is so different at each one.
