It’s time to review this week’s words:
culture | Everything that a large group of people has created over time and now share, such as music, art, and language, is called culture. Things that a group of people believe, eat, and celebrate are also part of that group’s culture. |
technology | Technology is all of the machines and other things that scientists and engineers have developed to help solve the problems that human beings face, such as how to produce food, how to cure disease, how to transport goods and people, how to communicate with others, how to produce energy. It is also the field of knowledge that has to do with these inventions. Many students in high school and in college, for example, study technology as well as science. Nowadays, technology is often connected with the development and use of computers. |
responsibility | When you have a responsibility, you have something you must take care of or do. Also, if we say that something is your responsibility, it means that you are the one whose job it is to do it. |
invention | Invention is the act or process of creating something that no one has ever created before. |
evidence | Evidence is something that gives you a reason to believe something. When you have evidence that the dog slept on the couch, it means there is some reason to believe that. Dirty footprints or dog hair may be evidence that makes you believe the dog slept on the couch. |
