Posted on September 21, 2024September 23, 2024 by Wordsmyth

It’s time to review this week’s words:

communityA community is an area where a group of people live. A community may be a neighborhood or a town. It has a government that makes laws and decides what might be best for everyone living there.
traditionTradition is the handing down of a group’s beliefs and customs from older people to younger people over many years. Tradition is also a kind of force that makes people continue doing something in a particular way just because it has always been done that way before.
navigateWhen you navigate something like a ship or airplane, you control where it is going so you can get to where you want to go.
tyrannyTyranny is a government in which a single person rules and controls everything. The ruler typically ignores the laws of the country and uses cruel methods to stay in power.
compromiseWhen people compromise, they come to an agreement about something after each person gives up something they had wanted in the beginning.

You can download the pdf file generated by our glossary maker and print out the glossary. We’ve also created a printable Vocabulary Notebook that contains this week’s words for your convenience.
