to obstruct or block with or as if with a barricade.
The police barricaded the cross streets so that cars couldn’t disrupt the parade.
Frightened by the noise outside, the family barricaded the door.

to defend or enclose by means of a barricade.
Anticipating protest, the police barricaded the courthouse.
