to quarrel noisily or heatedly.
Fans of the rival teams wrangled in the bar.

transitive verb

1. to quarrel over.
They wrangled the question back and forth.

2. to win or obtain by quarreling.
The employees wrangled a new contract out of management.

3. to force by quarreling (usu. fol. by “into”).
His business partner wrangled him into submission.

4. in the western United States, to herd or tend (horses or cattle).
The cowboys wrangled the herd.
