It’s time to review this week’s words:
community | A community is an area where a group of people live. A community may be a neighborhood or a town. It has a government that makes laws and decides what might be best for everyone living there. |
tradition | Tradition is the handing down of a group’s beliefs and customs from older people to younger people over many years. Tradition is also a kind of force that makes people continue doing something in a particular way just because it has always been done that way before. |
navigate | When you navigate something like a ship or airplane, you control where it is going so you can get to where you want to go. |
tyranny | Tyranny is a government in which a single person rules and controls everything. The ruler typically ignores the laws of the country and uses cruel methods to stay in power. |
compromise | When people compromise, they come to an agreement about something after each person gives up something they had wanted in the beginning. |
