transitive verb
1.   to exchange the position or order of (two things).
He accidentally transposes the “t” and the “h” when he types too fast.

2.  to reproduce (music) in a higher or lower key than that in which it was written.
The notes were too high for the singers to manage, so the choir director transposed the piece.
