intransitive verb
1.  to delay or postpone starting or acting; linger.
If you tarry much longer, you won’t finish in time.

2.  to stay or remain for a while, esp. longer than intended.
I’d love to have a cup of coffee, but I’d better not tarry or I’ll miss my bus.
