transitive verb

1. to acknowledge the truth, justice, or propriety of; admit.
After some argument, he conceded her point.
I concede that my son was in the wrong, but I don’t think he deserves suspension from school.

2. to grant as a right or privilege.
The government conceded the group’s right to protest.
The court conceded his claim to the property.

intransitive verb

to yield.
The losing candidate conceded before most of the votes were counted.
